CIP-UPWARD. 2002. Capacity
Development for Participatory Research. Users' Perspectives
With Agricultural Research and Development, Los Banos, Laguna,
Philippines. 138 pages. |

Capacity development plays a key role in sustaining and
institutionalizing
innovations in agricultural research. Developing capacity for
participatory
research poses key challenges in designing appropriate learning
processes,
setting up support mechanisms and facilitative environments, and in
mobilizing available resources and expertise. This publication draws on
the
presentations, general discussions and experience-sharing sessions
during
the UPWARD Network Conference on Capacity Development for Participatory
Research held in Beijing, China in September 2000. Intended for managers
of
capacity development activities and practitioners of participatory
research,
the volume consists of three sections: 1) thematic papers on capacity
development, 2) workshop highlights, and 3) institutional and personal
experiences.
